Child reportedly whipped as a result of of what he was watching on TV

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The 5-year-old Henderson boy who was was discovered unconscious and never respiration on Wednesday has been recognized as General Oglesby.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office mentioned Friday that the boy died of a number of blunt power accidents.

The boy’s father, Gerald Oglesby, 33, was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces a cost of open murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.

The 8 News Now I-Team reported Thursday the boy died of a beating after the father disapproved of what the kid was watching on tv.

Henderson police mentioned they obtained a 911 name from Oglesby round 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, saying his son was unresponsive. He informed a dispatcher that the final time he noticed his son respiration was about 13 minutes earlier than he known as, a report mentioned.

Police officers and firefighters arrived on the residence within the 700 block of Center Street, discovering the 5-year-old mendacity on a sofa with seen accidents to his face and torso, a report mentioned.

The boy had been whipped with a charging twine, in line with police.

Oglesby tried CPR after the kid stopped respiration, police mentioned. He then texted his sister, saying the boy “had died because he had whipped him too hard,” police mentioned.

According to police, Oglesby was awarded custody of his son in February 2021. Court data obtained by the I-Team present the boy’s mom had petitioned for custody a number of instances.
