Former Prime Automotive CEO David Rosenberg buys 2 N.H. dealerships

Former Prime Automotive Group CEO David Rosenberg has bought two extra shops as he continues to build a brand new dealership group.

Rosenberg, with companions and brothers Rick and Mike Bickford, on June 30 purchased Tri-City Subaru and Tri-City Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Somersworth, N.H.

The sellers have been brothers Kenneth Plante, Roger Plante and Steve Plante. Rosenberg mentioned he’s conserving the shops’ names, whereas Jordan Plante, a member of the family of the sellers, will stay basic supervisor of the Subaru retailer. Somersworth is about 20 miles from the Atlantic coast.

“The stores have a great reputation,” Rosenberg instructed Automotive News. “They’ve been in business a long time. We’re keeping all the staff that works at both dealerships.”

Rosenberg, a longtime Northeast seller, mentioned he beforehand labored with the Bickford brothers at Prime and described them as “great operators.” They personal a mixed 40 p.c within the dealerships, he mentioned.

“It’s been their professional lifelong dream to be dealers themselves and quite frankly I’m very happy to be able to help them in accomplishing that goal,” Rosenberg mentioned.

Rosenberg, who was fired as CEO of Prime in September 2019, bought a Chevrolet-Cadillac retailer in Saco, Maine, later that year. Last fall, Rosenberg and Chris Konovalchik (*2*), Vt., from Prime.

Rosenberg might title his group DSR Dealer Group and mentioned he’s seeking to purchase extra rooftops.
