Suspect charged in 2021 shooting that left young woman lifeless, 2 others injured: HPD

HOUSTON – Houston police mentioned Friday that a person has been charged in a triple shooting that left a teen lady lifeless and two males injured in northwest Houston on June 21, 2021.

Frederick Crouts, 19, is being held in federal custody after he was charged with homicide and two counts of aggravated assault with a lethal weapon.

Crouts is accused of killing 19-year-old Jasmine Burrell and injuring two males, ages 30 and 31, in a shooting reported at 8020 Grow Lane round 9:19 p.m.

Police mentioned officers discovered the three folks shot within a car in the 8000 block of Grow Lane.

According to police, Burrell was pronounced lifeless on the scene and the 2 different males have been taken to a close-by hospital.


Investigators discovered that a complete of 4 males have been concerned in the shooting. Police mentioned one of many suspects identified the victims’ car, two different suspects fired their weapons on the victims and the fourth suspect drove the getaway car. Police mentioned they later decided that one of many suspects, Arlington Wilkes, 30, was killed in a separate incident at 2425 Carmel St. on July 27, 2021.

Police mentioned Crouts was later recognized as one of many gunmen wished in the triple shooting.

The two different suspects — who haven’t been recognized by police — are nonetheless on the run.
