Energy bills: £40bn investment in energy network paves way for ‘green revolution’

Industry regulator Ofgem final week introduced that it’s going to permit energy networks to take a position £40bn in clear energy networks between 2021 and 2026, and make returns of 4.3% on their investments.

The transfer represents a change in stance from Ofgem. This summer time, there was a backlash when the regulator introduced plans to decrease returns on investments to file lows of three.7%. Many of even the most effective energy suppliers insisted they’d be unable to fulfill the Government’s 2050 net-zero targets.
