Harris County deputies shot in Houston: 1 killed, 2 injured

Houston police stated one individual is in custody after the three deputies had been shot whereas working an additional safety job at a bar.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constable is lifeless and two others are injured after they had been shot whereas working an additional safety job in north Houston, based on police.

One of the injured deputy constables was shot in the again and is in surgical procedure at Memorial Hermann Hospital, based on the Houston Police Department. Police stated the second injured deputy constable was shot in the foot and is awaiting surgical procedure.

HPD Executive Assistant Chief James Jones stated an individual of curiosity is in custody, however it’s not clear if he’s a witness or the suspect.

It occurred about 2:15 a.m. Saturday exterior a bar in the 4400 block of I-45 North. 

Jones stated the deputies had been working an additional safety job on the location and went exterior to analyze a disturbance. 

According to investigators, the disturbance was probably a theft. Jones stated the deputies had been arresting a suspect when one other individual armed with a rifle fired on the entire them from behind. Jones described it as an ambush.
