The COVID-19 vaccination may result in a cash bonus for workers at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The strip property is committed to paying upwards of $ 1 million in cash bonuses if 80 percent of its employees receive the first dose by May 1st. Those who do not want to get vaccinated will need to take the weekly COVID-19 test.
Cosmopolitan’s incentive is a tier system; The more workers vaccinated, the larger the bonus. Additional cash bonuses will be given to employees for 60 percent and 70 percent positive vaccination rates.
“According to federal, state and city health officials, we believe that accelerating the vaccination process is the most effective and integral step towards ensuring the safety of our employees and our guests and the successful return of our city trip,” Las. The president and chief executive of Cosmopolitan of Vegas said in a statement on Tuesday. “As an industry, we know that time is the essence of working towards our shared goal – which keeps our employees safe and welcomes guests safely to the destination.”
Employees working three or less days should be tested once a week, while those working four or more days per week should be tested twice a week.
Free COVID-19 testing is offered to employees at any publicly available testing site in the city. The company also does on-site testing, but costs can rise rapidly there; While the Cosmopolitan will fully cover the cost of COVID-19 tests at the site, employees will be responsible for $ 30 third-party staffing fees.
The property began offering free on-site vaccinations to more than 4,000 employees and members of their immediate household on 22 March. The property has so far invested more than $ 40 million in COVID-19 relief efforts.
