A British man has been killed in Georgia by a ‘group of men who beat him unconscious and threw him into a river following an argument’, authorities say.

The sufferer was named as musician Thomas Kennedy, 28, and 5 Georgian residents, together with one minor, have been detained on suspicion of homicide in Gori metropolis.

The man died after consuming with a group of native men adopted by a verbal and bodily dispute, based on native studies.

All 5 have been detained by a courtroom for 2 months. They face from 13 to 17 years in jail if discovered responsible.

A report on Mtavari TV channel stated Kennedy had arrived in Georgia on August 30, and studies stated he was a pupil at a native music school.

He is identified to have performed the acoustic guitar.

A prison case was opened into homicide with aggravating circumstances.

One of the detainees was named as 23-year-old Vasil Okropiridze, described as a avenue musician.
